Redington Beach was established in 1944 and incorporated in 1945, according to the town’s resident guide. It developed as a predominantly residential community, with single-family houses and low-rise condominium buildings between the Gulf and Boca Ciega Bay.

The three Redington towns share a name but have separate municipal governments and development stories. Neighboring North Redington Beach traces its resort history to Charles Redington’s Tides Hotel and Beach Club. Meanwhile, the former Redington Long Pier stood in Redington Shores. The town’s small parks give this stretch of Gulf Boulevard several distinct places to stop. Town Park sits at Gulf Boulevard and 164th Avenue, while Friendship Park is across from Town Hall. Farther south, Moon Park provides beach access at 157th Avenue, and Causeway Park follows the 161st Avenue causeway.

For a waterfront dining option farther north, Coconut Charlie’s serves seafood, tacos and beach-bar fare at the DoubleTree in North Redington Beach.
